TRAILWORK THIS SUNDAY MARCH 10TH

Postby mtmajor » Wed Mar 06, 2013 7:28 pm

Hello all,

We will be starting up this years trailwork with a work day this Sunday 10am at the lakes.
Meet at the George street lot across from the Redman damn.

We are planning on doing some work on the stream crossings at the bottom of 2c.
This area has not been draining well the last few years and is holding a lot of mud.

We will also be doing some general trail clean up in the area on 2c and trail 1.

Let's get a jump start on the season and help get the trails dried out and ready for action.
Your help, as always is appreciated by many.

Yamba will supply the tools and snacks.
You just need some sturdy work shoes and gloves.

ps. Dont forget to set your clocks ahead! ;)

A big thanks goes out to the following members that came out to lend a hand today,
Joel Dore, Marshal and Kinser Smith, Ken Powers, Kim Watson, Scott Ramsay, Dick Mansberger, Jody Coeyman, Ray Michels and there was one other who's signature I can't make out (sorry).

We were able to cut in some drainage above and below the muddy area on 2c to help dry it out. We also filled in the low area with some dirt. This should help the area dry out some and we can improve it further at that point.

We were also able to clear out some drains on trails 2 and 1 to allow a couple wet spots to dry out.

Kevin should posting a trail work schedule soon so keep an eye out. There are a couple new trails in the planning stages for later in the year.

Thanks

Mike M.
