Ice Storm Clean Up Status - 3/24/2014

Hey everyone.....

I wanted to take a moment to thank the 61 volunteers who worked 450 hours at both Rocky Ridge and William Kain park to clean up the ice storm damage on the trails. I am happy to report that ALL TRAILS at both Rocky Ridge and The Lakes are completely cleared!!! We had a mix of mountain bikers and trail runners who dedicated their time, chain saws, and efforts to get the trails cleared for use by bikers, hikers, runners, and equestrians.

Please note that there are still many loose and damaged limbs and trees that may fall during the next windstorm. As users start riding the trails again, if any additional downed trees or limbs are found, please notify us. We will get a crew out to clean it up. In addition, if we happened to miss any areas, please let us know and we will take care of it. Please also be careful of the smaller sticks and branches that remain on the trails after the snow melted.

Thank you again to all of our dedicated volunteers who helped clean up the ice storm damage. Lets hope for some warmer, drier weather which will allow us the opportunity to actually get out and RIDE!

Thanks, Dan

Hey Ron,

Right now we are done with clean up. All trees have been removed. There are several areas at the lakes where trees uprooted and took the trail tread with them. We will need to repair these areas but wanted to give everyone a chance to take a break and ride! We will get some additional trail work days planned later this spring. Hope to see you then!
