New and looking for good place to start riding

Postby pensfaninmd » Fri Oct 28, 2011 10:02 am

Hello, I am new to this forum and love to ride trails. Its been a while since I have really riddden and I want to start again, perhaps do a race or two in the Spring. Being in my mid forties and trying to get back in shape and lose some weight, where would be a good place/trail to ride? I live in Harford County so I am not that far away. Also if there are any other riders with the same issues, or want to start out riding slow. Please let me know.
Thanks!

Welcome back to the sport.

William H. Kain / Redman Parks (aka the Lakes) are a good place to start, as the trails aren't too technical. GPS coordinates for two parking places:
Boat Launch: 39.88878,-76.7012
George St.: 39.8973,-76.715598
(cut and paste into google maps)

MORE (http://www.more-mtb.org/) is a big club in MD that you might be closer to.
