First you remove the old crown race...

Then you use a specialized (small "s") tool to install the bearing cups...

LMAO. Your elite skills and finesse with bike maintenance never cease to amaze me! I'll pay you lots of money to keep my steed running, lol! (you'd love the 'art' of outfitting kayaks, btw)

In all seriousness, you can build a proper cup press with a long course threaded bolt and nut, some large washers, and copper pipe reducers.

Getting the old ones out, however, has always been a chore with hammer and screwdriver. I don't think I own a headset that hasn't been chiseled by a screwdriver :-)
