Women of Mountain Biking survey results

Postby diggingtrail » Sat Sep 11, 2010 9:24 am

Sacred Rides and IMBA Candada sponsored a survey of female mountain bikers to get a better understanding of how to encourage more females to ride. The final results were released yesterday. Women, Men, bike shops, you all should find something to take away from this.

Damn. I thought this was going to be pics of hot chicks in tight spandex.

If you want to see hot chicks in spandex just google Maja Wloszczowska...

On a more serious note I hope something positive can come from IMBA's study. It's a shame what a male dominated sport MTBing is, and I know it can be very intimidating for females to show up for rides and such when they know they might (and in most cases are) the only girl there...

As a woman and beginning MTBer I have to say I appreciate all the encouragement and support I have received this year on the beginner rides. It is intimidating being the only girl sometimes, especially when everyone is much faster, but I have had nothing but good experiences riding with YAMBA this year. Thanks guys.
