Hey everyone...

Come join YAMBA and Nuts About Granola Racing for the 1st annual Jonathan Gantz Memorial Cyclocross Clinic!! Cyclocross is becoming more and more popular and this event is a great way to learn more about it. The event is free of charge as long as you are a YAMBA member by July 31, 2012.

9:00am-1:00PM - August 4th, 2012
Please join us as we polish up on our cyclocross skills and remember our friend and teammate
Jonathan Gantz on the same grounds that he formerly trained on.
We have a day of cyclocross introduction including: warm up ride around Spring Valley Park,
grass track, starts, mounts and re-mounts, competition tactics & lastly a competition simulation.

This event is held under YAMBA event permit. All YAMBA rules apply.

Licenses: All entrants must have an active YAMBA membership by July 31st. Go to http://www.yamba.org to join and sign the membership waiver; family memberships also available . Riders under 18 years of age are required to have a parent's signature. Helmets are mandatory in all events. No aero bars permitted. Mountain bike with no bar ends acceptable.

Course: Euro Style CX course : Grass Track, Run-Ups, Natural Barriers

Location: Spring Valley Park, Springfield Township PA

Directions: From I-83 to Glen Rock exit; travel east on Rt 216 for .1 miles; turn right onto
Potosi Rd.; travel 2.1 miles to Crest Rd., where the park begins.

Rain Date: This is a shine only event. Rain date: August 11, 2012

is this taking place of the mountain bike time trial?

Dave, we definitely abandoned the time trial due to such poor turnout. We may still have another event in late fall.

Some sort of race or time trial at RR would be cool.

John and I talked about a trail before but I wouldn't even know where to start.
I guess the first thing would be see who's even interested in participating?

Downhill time trial from the Powerline, down rusty chair then down through the Gut.

I could plan time some time trials or races, don't know how elaborate they will be though

cool idea though a fast time might be less than 8 minutes ?

I believe the "poor turnout " was directly related to overlapped events .. there was some cross bike race that day if I remember correctly.
