Bike In York Week - Kickoff event May 15th

Postby danwalko » Sun May 08, 2011 7:42 am

Hey everyone... Please see the attached flyer for an event being held on 5/15. This sounds like it is going to a great event bringing together many in the York area interested in cycling. YAMBA is going to have a few members who are assisting with the event. Is anyone else interested in helping? Please let us know.

Here is the text of the flyer. I also attached the actual flyer.

In conjunction with National Bike Month and the League of American Bicyclists'
Bike to Work Week, a new task force of organizations and cycling citizens will

I checked all of their info and see nothing that limits riders by age. You can email the organizers of the event by going to their web page and clicking on the "Contact Us" link in the top right corner.

Sorry....that is all the info I have.

There is an article in YDR about road lane closures for Bike in York Week. Some roads will be reduced to one lane for vehicles and the other lane will be temporarily blocked off for bicycle use during the week. A substantial portion of King St. will have a PERMANENT bike lane as of the event kickoff.

Due to the poor weather today and the expected heavy rains/storms later, YAMBA will not be attending this event. Please consider participating in the Bike to Work week that will be taking place all week this week!
