RSS Feeds Now Available

A powerful RSS feed generator is available for the forums now. It is yet another easy way to access the content that is on the new forums. RSS feeds take information that is posted to the site, and sends it to your preferred feed reader. A few are: On a Mac, Vienna a nice open source program. On a windows machine FeedDemon a freeware RSS reader from Newsgator. Platform agnostic RSS readers are available as well such as Google Reader or if you use Firefox there are multiple RSS plugins available.

The feed generator can be accessed by clicking on the Smartfeed link (has an rss icon beside it) in the upper right hand corner. Once on the Smartfeed page you will notice the options that are available starting with which sub-forums you would like to receive topic posts from. Then you are able to chose which posts in a topic you will receive and how far back you would like to receive from including from last visit. Then pick your format, most should chose RSS 2.0, HTML styling, and No for authentication. Click on generate and copy the feed url into your feed reader. You can even test the feed to make sure it works.

None of us use a Mac but you. Stop breaking things because it doesn't work on your weirdo OS and apps :-p

Actually over 15% of the hits come from Macs. :D A little over 5% come from linux boxes. Sad thing is a little over 50% of the hits come from Internet Explorer  Come on people switch to Firefox. Joking (kind of)

Back on topic. RSS feeds will need to be resubscribed to, since the website address has changed and the feed is attatched to the address. Thanks folks.

I'm one of those Mac users :D

And seriously, get off IE people! Any users still logging in with Netscape? LOL... I keep forgetting to try out Crome now that it's out for the Mac.

BTW, these forums work great on my iPhone!

15% of hits != 15% of users ;-). It's not our fault the two mac users here have nothing better to do than get aroused by your web forum all day :-p
