Gung Ho Bikes is the newest sponsor of YAMBA. Please welcome and support them. Gung Ho has graciously donated the use of a BOB trailer for our trail maintenance needs. The trailer has already seen one days work and will be a great addition to our arsenal of tools. You can find their website at Gung Ho Bikes

Gung Ho Fantasy TDF competition

Postby diggingtrail » Fri Jul 02, 2010 8:17 pm

Got this email from Jay. I signed up, I used to do fantasy tour stuff years ago but got out of it, and now back into it. The site that Gung Ho is doing this through is simple and easy to use. Want a chance at some free stuff? Sign up and make your pics. The first week will not be figured into Gung Ho's contest so use that for practice. :D

Email:
Good Morning--In the better late than never category-or the you didn't really want to work at work on the friday before a three day weekend category.......we give you a biking related solution.

The greatest/toughest athletic contest in the world The 2010 LeTour DeFrance starts tomorrow (Saturday, July 3) and we want you to share in the excitement.

We're starting a little contest that uses the website TourPool EU. It's free to join and we're offering prizes for everyone that gets on the podium of our portion of the contest.

The winner gets a $50 gift certificate and a Gung Ho/Spring House Jersey. Second place gets a GH/SH jersey and a $25 gift certificate. Third place just gets some random stuff. We'll also have a free GH bottle for everyone that participates.

To join you need to go to http://www.tourpool.eu/joinnow.php and follow the direction they give to sign up. You will also need to name "Gung Ho Bikes" as the subleague. Once you do this you will get a confirmation email and you can start picking riders.

We would prefer if you would use your name and some numbers as your user name so everyone can identify who's doing well and who's just plain bad at this.

The website does a pretty good job of explaining how it works. You can change riders up to five minutes before race start. Which will also allow you to change your picks due to crashes and riders not riding as expected.

If you have never followed LeTour before this is a great chance to learn about professional cycling. Numerous websites carry the race live and you can see the race most nights on TV on Versus.

Take a look at the route for the race here:

And you can take a quick look at some favorites here:

And since we're late with the contest-we will not count the first week in the final scores. So tell your friends-forward the email--and get picking.

Sorry for the non-flashy email as I did it this morning and Penny wasn't able to help me.
