Kid's 24" 'REAL MTB' - Ibex Alpine 440

Postby Spangaru » Wed Apr 20, 2011 12:27 pm

As I clean out our garage for the upcoming move, I'm realizing that my son has now forsaken his 24" bike for his mother's old 26" Cannondale. Therefore rather than have one more bike to ship, I'm putting this bike up for sale. If you're in the market for a serious kid's mountain bike, then there aren't many options. This is a 2009 Ibex Alpine 440, but it was built as a prototype for Ibex's 2010 line (which I don't believe ever saw the light of day). The primary differences between this bike and the ones you'll see reviewed on MTBR (http://www.mtbr.com/cat/bikes/kids/ibex-bicycles/alpine-440k/PRD_364010_6179crx.aspx) are the wheelset, tires, the disc brakes and the bar/stem combo. I bought this directly from the owner of Ibex, and it has been ridden maybe 150 miles. I can't say you could pass it off to your kid as new, but my son took great care of it, and it is in really good shape, with only the typical wear from being ridden. I have more pictures for anyone interested.

The 'standard version' of the bike had an MSRP of +$400 and sold for ~$325. I'm looking for $200, with 10% going to YAMBA.
