LAKES OVER GROWTH

Postby rmac » Fri Jun 25, 2010 10:10 pm

Hello, how overgrown are the trails at the lakes right now? I'm planning on riding on Sunday (barring storms) but one of my riding buddies doesn't react well to some high grasses and over growth. thanks, Rick

It depends on where you go. Most doubletrack has been recently mowed. Some singletrack is overgrown and will add racing stripes to your arms and legs*, like 7, 5B, and twisty 5 south of the fishing hole. Some singletrack is clearer, as in won't require bushwhacking, like goat trail 5, 2, and 4. 2C is the only thing I saw on Wednesday that looks like it has been cleared recently.

*not to be construed as a complaint

Thanks Charles. We are planning on riding as much single track as possible. Rick

Trail 7 was trimmed to day from the intersection at trail 6 back to the top of the hill that is in between the ponds. So about half of the trail was done today. The other half is scheduled to be done next Sunday at the trailwork. Big thanks to Dan Bowers for helping out today w/ the club trimmer.
